  1. Why do they sell you water bottles in dubai transit and then take it off you when you try and get on the plane? I'm sure they just resell it to the next mug. Next time, I'll take an empty bottle on board with me and fill it from the dispenser.
  2. It's funny, Liverpool's been on my list for a while, but I've never had a reason to go there. One day maybe.
  3. Liverpool's on my list. Is it safe to take children there?
  4. I'd go for a 12 foot plus beach rod myself, but you may get away with 10 foot telescopic on some of the northern beaches, and it would be fine off the groyes. They don't have a lot of surf. But you may struggle anywhere like Trigg. River fishing on the swan is not bad. Bream, flounder and flathead further inland. Tailor, cobbler, flounder and flathead and mackerel from Matilda bay onwards. (The river fish have been poisoned a few times, so they may not be worth worrying about). I've caught whiting, salmon, sea bream and cobbler from the beach. Crabbing can be very good too on the river (never tried it at sea). They used to do prawning, but doubt you'd catch anything. You only need one salmon and you can feed a family of four, but you'd probably have more luck further south. Be careful about sizes and numbers. My nephew copped a big fine (about $20,000) recently.
  5. I googled fear of geckos - and it seems you're not alone. You could try hypnosis to try and get over it. Or maybe just try holding one to get used to it. Do you have a problem with other lizards - or with frogs etc?
  6. Seriously? There is no reason to fear geckos. They are adorable. I suggest you seek treatment, as the problem is with you not the geckos. Geckos are your friend.
  7. Late night typing sorry. Actually half the kids I went to school with at Mt Lawley were Italian or Greek. Big European influence there. Great food. (minus the cucumbers)
  8. Well at least they sorted out the cumcumbers. It took a while, but I'm pleased to say that last time I was in Perth I saw row upon row of English cumcumbers, and none of those weird Italian ones.
  9. Ok - I just wanna know - before this thread turns into all out war - does anyone have a problem with the eggs?
  10. Try soaking and baking it in Coca Cola (not diet) rather than water - you will never look back. http://lukehoney.typepad.com/the_greasy_spoon/2009/11/cocacola-ham.html
  11. My mum has the best bacon - I think she got it from the butchers counter at Coles. Sausages - you get what you pay for. As for bottled water - try keeping the empty bottle and fill it up from the tap. Chocolate sucks - I'm with you there. VB isn't bitter - don't know why they call it bitter.
