Hey all, have to share the great news. Just received my visa grant notification!!! Woohooo
Drinks up tonight--even if it's Monday. haha
Good luck to everyone, the wait is worth it!
btw, my company used an MA for the nomination. I did the visa application myself...didn't submit a form 80, but I'm not from a high risk country either.

My understanding is that your employer who has nominated you, must ensure they can employ you for 2 years following your PR being granted. There is no obligation for you (the applicant) to remain in that job however. I believe it is a requirement to avoid you seeking government assistance for the first 2 years of your PR. If you find a new employer then that is not an issue as you are still working and not claiming any Centrelink, etc.
Oh, that makes sense. Thanks!

Im planing to leave my current job and wanna start something new!! Does it effect my pr? As i have been sponspored for him two uears more????
Does anyone know more about this? I remember seeing something about committing to remain with the employer two more years. Someone told me though, that after one year you can apply for citizenship, and once you have citizenship you're no longer under any obligations.

I'm off the board for one day, and a bunch of approvals come through. lol Congrats everyone who received PR yesterday, very exciting!

Yep - hoping for mine very soon. Looks like our dates are very similar.
That's true, they're very close! Well I'll be watching for yours to come through then. We should be celebrating around the same time.

A colleague of mine who is not on this forum had his visa approved on Friday evening just gone.
His nomination and visa were applied 1 week (approx) apart from each other in the last last week of March/first week of April.
Occupation : IT
That's great news Chris! We're starting to see more April approvals now.
Good luck to everyone this week!

Anyone noticed only nominations being approved in July? I've seen nominations and visas approved together, but so far I don't think I've seen nominations go through by themselves.
-
Could have something to do with it...I also wonder if being absorbed into the new Border department has anything to do with it? ...although, they're still approving them faster than the six months they say it may take.

As I already said, I've no intention to hurt anyone; however if my prediction will hurt anyone then I feel sorry for that.
If it does get approved tomorrow, I'm going to start calling you the visa whisperer lol
-
Wow, your nom was approved in one month's time Loz!? That's lightning quick...good chance of luck that.
-
I haven't seen any April approvals yet Jiwan. Looks like nominations submitted in March are still being processed. Hopefully we'll see noms from the beginning of April processed in the next week or so.

Sooo sorryyy.

Anyway the additional doc was overseas police check
Congrats Ely! Great news for you!
I dread filling it in, so I'm wondering if you ended up submitting the Form 80?

Congrats to those who received approvals today!
