Hi Friends,
I have an question to ask:
Recently i become australian parmanant resident along with my wife and a son. And my son was born in australia while i was on student visa (as a temporary visa). Now what i need to know is will he become aus citizen without waiting along with us which is 12 months after granting the PR next year?
My second question is considering our current circumtances if a second child is born before we apply citizenship, will he/she become australian citizen autometically/manually or this child has to wait with others?
please share your experience and knowledge which would be much appreciated dear.
Regards,
kaz
Congratulations!
Your child is connected to your citizenship application and is not required to fulfill the residency requirement for citizenship.
If at least one of the parents is a permanent resident and the child is born in Australia, the child is automatically an Australian citizen.
Hope this helps.

Got a text message from the immigration office in Adelaide that we can personally pick up the certificate on Monday. If not, they will post it by mid September.

@Zet01 I only reviewed the testable part of the booklet (3 chapters). Its not that long. I think you will be able to finish it in 2 hours max. Then you can take the sample test online. Good luck!

is CO asking anyone for private medical cover (457 to 186) ? which is mandatory when ur on 457?
I did not submit a proof for private medical cover to the CO. I think it is because we are eligible for medicare once we lodge our application for PR.

Hi Epistat99,
My occupation is the same as yours and my nomination was approved on 23rd March, Visa lodged 29 March still waiting.
Did they contact you after visa application? or straight grant?
Thanks
Hi Ad85,
They did not contact me after the visa application. It was a straight grant.
