Extension to Initial Entry Date? - Partner (subclass 100) visa
Jon the Hat replied to megan987's topic in Visa Chat
There was tak of doubling the WA entry limit from 550 to 1050 yesterday from the federal govt, although the WA premier denied any knowledge of it. I think they will have to fix this issue. Surley hotel chains are keen to seperate travellers from their money.- 5 replies

If being anti gets you a visit from the police then I can see why!

I'd love a roof tent, but my wife has no interest in climbing up a ladder to go to bed.

He cannot cancel your PR, however he can absolutely stop you taking his kids halfway around the world.

I think I read on here that initial entry dates can be waived. One of the migration experts might be along soon.

Nothing even vaguely close to 2% are dying anywhere. Excess deaths in the UK are 0.1% at worst, and many of those would have sadly died in the coming months anyway - people die all the time and we don#t lockdown half the country as a result. What we will see is other excess deaths as a result of lockdown reducing care everywhere. These things have consequences. It does seem some people have longer term complications but not clear enough picture yet. Trust me when the tax rises come and the jobs losses mount people will quickly lose patience. Better hope the vaccine comes soon and enough people are willing to take it.

Is anyone feeling the economic consequences yet though? Popularity will drop when people realise to protect a tiny minority they can expect higher unemployment, tax rises and long term restrictions on their liberty. It has been a long time since Australia had that pain I think, and opinions polls can change quickly.

I have very little confience that the ANZ approach of keeping the virus out is sustainable. It relies completely on a vaccination. If that fails both Australia and New Zealand will have to weather it like the rest of the world.

Flippin heck mate you have nailed this moving lark! Congratulations!

Yeah looking at Perth, but to be honest still slightly worried that our standard of living might be lower than now If I can't land a good job.

Yeah I figured a rental, but still finding one you like on the first day and getting it is pretty good going.

Wow what a week! G'won share some picks of the house... We are all living vicariously here!

On other news, we have someone who wants to buy our house, they just need to sell theirs first. Not going to get too excited at this stage.

Qatar say they are flying 4 flights a week still. I guess you might get stuck in Doha for a bit, but there are probably worse airports to get stuck in, they should put you in a nice hotel. To be fair to the airline it must be difficult with the changing entry requirements to book flights at all, and I can believe they booked people only to find the numbers they are allowed by the AU govt are lower. Did the facebook comments resolve if they got to Au in the end?

Are you sure the Visitor Visa route is closed to you? I was under the impression that spouse of Australian Citizens could qualify for an excemption.

The next section: From 1 August 2020 all passengers arriving in Dubai from any destination, including passengers connecting in Dubai, must have a negative COVID-19 test certificate to be accepted on the flight. The test must be taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure. This excludes children under the age of 12 and passengers who have a moderate or severe disability.
-
Yes - I would say though if you are flying via Dubai the emirates link ir pretty clear that this applies to all transit passenger effective 1st August, so I would assume you need the test and plan it in.

Well you say that, but Birmingham metro population is more like 2.7M depending on where you draw the boundary.- 12 replies
