Hi Mate called the citizenship number today as my approval is sitting for 7months with no ceremony in site and the lady told me to wait a little longer, apparently current waiting time is more than 12 months due to COVID-19 and there are no virtual ceremonies getting conducted in Brisbane council as the team who does that are severely understaffed and cannot accommodate any more applications for this year, over all all Brisbane applicants are mightily screwed

There are no formal approval letter, its just in you immi messages, current waiting time in Brisbane is more than 12months for ceremony, unfortunately as everything immigration works at their own pace. I suggest keep checking your post box as usually you will get a letter 30 days before the ceremony.

Congrats I have been waiting since December 2020 with no updates

If you have noticed 600 per ceremony and there are thousands waiting. I was told not to contact immigration for virtual ceremony with regards to HECS HELP as I dont qualify under emergency category so I think indirectly they are saying wait

My neighbour her application got approved in start of November and she did her ceremony last month so I am guessing probably Novemeber or December at this stage for us. Do you know how can we do online ceremony

I did the same and I am loosing hope as nothing is happening and I am not sure if we ever going to recieve the invite this year with the amount of backlog they have

Hi Forum, did any one from Brisbane who wrote the test in December received ceremony invite recently. My neighbor got hers yesterday and she wrote the test in October in Brisbane city.

Any time before 18th Feb if not it would be april or june ceremony apprently invites are coming 1 month prior to ceremony dates

I heard who ever passed the test in September in metro Brisbane have got their ceremonies done last month 26th so I would say 4 months lead time from when you got approval

Does anyone have any experience applying for border exemption to travel oversees. please advise or share your experience

Nope no news the next ceremony will be on 18th March in brisbane city hall. I am rooting for that possibly....

Thanks but no thanks for your concern... the stress coming out of anxiety varies between individuals... yes checking mail boxes and post boxes doesn't guarantee ceremony or citizenship we still do it as an human instinct. I called home affairs and council only to ask for information not to expedite my ceremony and I asked basic question and not about my particular case and before I called them I know the answer as well but tried what you referenced "Luck" and see if they can guide me accordingly. Thanks mate I was told ceremony has to happen within 6 months of approval though so I was approved in December so anytime before June 2021 I guess

Guys any news on brisbane ceremonies I called the council and also home affairs both said I have to wait for 6 months as the list for Jan 26 is getting finalised and if I made it I would be contacted. I am sick and tired of checking post box every day they should get it done its been 7 years... I know I ain't going any where but anxiety is killing...

2 years back this forum was full of people applying replying etc.. I hardly see any one here any more due to strict border laws shutting of borders due to COVID and people opting Canada over Australia as PR in Canada is guarantee rather than Australia and being soo close to USA its easy to start a new life as USA as is lot cheaper compared to ours but anyway I will be citizen soon and we are not dying in thousands everyday so I think we are in the lucky country and my decision for not opting to immigrate to Canada was a good option.

I finished my test yesterday for both me and my wife we both passed with 100% result. Test was very easy we have done ours in Brisbane city and hopefully ceremony letter will be coming our wah soon for 26th Jan 2021

My application has been approved today. Done my test in Brisbane city this morning and approved 10mins after. I am praying for Australia Day ceremony..

We received our test date next month 14th... we applied in July

Any one applied in July in Brisbane QLD. Did anyone got any reply or approvals yet... any time frames would be helpful..
