Sorry but I heard an sad story this morning, I was speaking to an packer in my company came from an labour hire agency and apparently a month back he owned an 7-11 store in NSW and the reason he is now broke is due to fact that his PR got refused 2 times, his occupation was "Retail manager". He informed me that not only him but 6 of his friends PR nomination was refused 3 times for few people. Please be aware if there is any retail manager occupation in this group as that's the only occupation on the immigration chopping board of refusals.

Guys can someone help me understand, if our 457 visa was approved on an nominated skill (mine quality assurance manager) and we have been working in same skill in same company for 2 years so why do we need another nomination approval process should it be straight visa process. What are they checking in the nomination any way, I am getting mixed opinions on this can someone clarify this. my name and timelines is getting removed from spreadsheet 3 times now can someone add me name: Anthony nomination skill: Quality assurance manager Applied visa/nomination: 27/03/2018 2 people HR thank you

I contacted my MA today to see if he can contact immigration on my file status update and apparently even MA are not allowed to contact immigration for status update if under 15 to 17 months, my question is if this goes to 20-24 months so we have to wait for 2 years and can't contact immigration for answers?

Visa processing could be outsourced soon to private companies due to amount of workload with immigration.... I hope this is an positive for people waiting for years... https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/sep/22/labor-could-refer-plans-to-outsource-visa-processing-to-senate-estimates

Thank you Kaz for the reply, I think we need to focus on goal rather than processing times.. I am equally anxious like many people (everyone got their own reasons) in this forum but one thing which is keeping me calm is "Hope"... when ever I see "received" I don't get agitated as its not "refused" which many people have received and are in more stressful situation than many of us.

Guys as we all are in the same boat thought to ask and request if you share your feedback on "why did you apply for PR". Please share your reasons as this is just to keep our minds occupied and make us focus on our goal, your reason can be anything (stability, peace of mind, buying a car or house, better education for kids etc...) so if possible share so can we all can connect. My reason - I want to buy a house and settle down in QLD.

Guys just a simple question, I have submitted most of my documents via attached documents. there are some sections in attached documents which I personally think are already covered by Resume which I have already attached, like oversees experience and Australian experience, do I also need to attached resume in those sections again as it makes no sense to me. Kindly advise.

I agree with you... there is no harm in keeping private insurance... my wife was hospitalised few months back and luckily I was with NIB which covered many surgical costs which "interim" medicare doesn't. The medicare is very useful post-op GP care not for actual emergencies or hospital cover trust me on this please...
