I contacted my MA this morning here's his response ? "The delay is caused by a large volume of applications the Department of Home Affairs received last year during the immigration reform. Everyone was lodging their application even if they were not eligible and this has caused a significant stress on the Department's resource and workload. We will just have to wait until they contact us."

No child care subsidy I enquired we are not that lucky... Interim card is an pain as well as it doesn't cover some hospital procedures so I took private insurance (NIB is preferred and cheap..)

Keep it as you require it without private insurance you will end up paying higher medicare levy and you need private insurance for 457 visa requirement to stay in country...

100% agree... issuing visa's depends on countries economic conditions, current political conditions, urgent skill shortage and global skill gaps in general public to compete with other countries. I know this for sure as every immigration department work on a very complex algorithm... which will make sense example: 2 cooks applied from same company, same salary, same work, applied on same day and both from same country but one guy gets visa approved other gets to wait... reason one guy might be younger than other person or more healthier... I have seen this pattern before when my dad applied for his Green Card in states (took 10 years to approve)...

I have tried the same approach and asked my MO the same question he said the same thing the current timelines apply to any one whose file is still in "received" mode.. once your file is being assigned then its on mercy of the CO...

Disagree with you... I am not sure where did you get this information but I heard many cases getting approved with few of my colleagues seeing nomination approvals in last few weeks...
