I am going to owe a ridiculous amount of money due to the interest all being front loaded by the finance company. In the unlikely event that I will be able to sell it with finance secured on it I will then have to make up the shortfall (probably around $8k). The finance company are of no use and just tell me I have to pay, I asked what if I dont have the money (ie can they turn the shortfall into a loan) and they state that it must all be paid before I leave Australia... Being that we want to get a new mortgage soon after returning home, I am reluctant to just run away, but if I dont have 8k to give them, I am left with no real choice.
