Well this morning I decided to tel Adelaide, however having waited on line for over 15 mins, they did not take m file number and asked what the nature of my query was-I explained that all my docs had been received on the 18th June according to the web site but no decision had yet been made, they just said it was normal and it can take up to a couple of months anyway even when all docs are showing as met- I feel so fobbed of!

Nightmare - sending you hugs x

Thanks smithinoz and Jars, I guess there is nothing more I can do but wait it out and be patient, there are no time limits that Diac work to as because of the nature of their job, it will take them as long as they feel it needs to to make a decision so when it comes to straightforward cases like mine you cant really hold them accountable if it takes a bit longer- I know people have lives and go on leave but cant help feeling fed up.

I remember feeling quite depressed the last week - thinking my grant would never come. As Jars says, we are all behind you. Even though we have our grants we feel compelled to check on the rest of the team.

Did you celebrate much yesyetday Lou? X

A bit muted to be honest ....think we had built ourselves up so much to getting last Friday so we had a few drinkies over the weekend to commiserate and didn't really feel like it! Lol! But shall be purchasing some champers for Friday  Its kind of a weird feeling , so exciting but no one else around you quite understands, and I also think it is still sinking in....x

Yeah I found it a bit of an anti-climax too after the big build up. Don't worry, the excitement kicks back in when you start booking accommodation etc. I have also had a good cry over the reality of leaving my 18 year old daughter behind (her choice). So expect the unexpected! I think you have to go through the whole set of emotions. X

I am waiting to hear on my nursing registration, I rang their office before the weekend and got to speak to a similar type of jobsworth person. I decided to give it another go last night and managed to speak to a much more helpful person last night, who told me that the processing of my application was complete and I should hear in the next few days.

Moral of this story - you will always come across jobsworth people but there are others out there as well - ones that do help - Hang in there and maybe give it another try in a couple of days, if you still haven't heard anything

Yahoooooooooooooooooooo!!! Visa Granted this morning!!@!

Thank you to the May gang for all your support!!!

Congratulations chertique

Thanks val-= it is always a shock when you come across someone who isn't really interested and just doing the basics of their job- I can wait a week- but I just cant believe a visa goes on hold when someone is off. Thanks to everyone for their support

DIAC...Nothing again..............And to make things run along nicely...............The car dies, resulting in my partner having to hire a car (£45 a day) as she needs it for work (community nurse) the car dies on Friday afternoon and the ONE YEAR we dont get breakdown cover, WE NEED IT. So we had to pay to get the car recovered and taken to a mercedes specialist (we are not that posh.......Its a smart car) thinking that there will know what to do with the little thing and fix it in no time..........Well its tuesday afternoon and they have turned around and said "Yep,We dont know whats wrong, It will have to go to the main dealer" GREAT,mercedes garage, What do they charge an hour in labour, £90. This pot of money that we had seems to be disappearing with more and MORE thing going wrong and more thing to pay out...

It seem like there is always something there to bring you down when your already down, Well thank you, sods law...

Sorry, Rant over...

Just needed to get that off my chest, its one of them days, well, weeks, actually it one of them months...
