We are busy collecting all his evidence (reference letters and qualifications) but one of his companies that he worked for just got back to us saying that they do not give out references. Does anyone know if there is something else we can use instead to prove he has been working as a plumber for the past 3 years? as he is self employed (sub contracts) somebody mentioned that we should get his accountant to write a letter. Hi and welcome, You say that one of his companies wont give a reference, firstly will the other companies he has worked for give references, how long has he been plumbing for, could you contact the individuals that he has done the plumbing for? Also is he a member of gas safe or another body that would possibly prove his plumbing back ground as all this could help as you need as much info as possible. He does not have an accountant as we do his tax returns ourselves? He could also do a Statutory Declaration to cover the period he's unable to get a referece for.
