LizOz
I wondered if anyone could advise.... I am moving to WA (Perth) in March next year and will be looking for an HR role. Apart from the usual job boards (seek, indeed etc) is there anywhere you would recommend looking for work? I don't have any intention of starting the search properly for a few months yet but thought it would be good to scope out what kind of roles come up. Second question - does anyone know of any good websites where I could do some research on Australian employment law, I presume I will need to have some kind of basis to this to secure a job.... All help/advice is much appreciated
MicheleW
A good start would be to look at the AHRI website: http://www.ahri.com.au which is the primary HR resource in Australia. There are a number of courses available online that may help you supplement your UK knowledge with Australian employment law. With regards to employment, don't only rely on seek or employment agencies. Look at the individual recruitment websites for some of the larger mining companies as well, eg http://careers.bhpbilliton.com/jobSearch.asp?stp=AW&sLanguage=en or https://riotinto.taleo.net/careersection/4/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en. There may not be any jobs going at the moment but you can set up search criteria where they email you any roles that fit your specifications. Good luck with your search.
