We made some enquiries online and got a couple of online quotes but also made appointments for 3 companies to come out and see us, Excess Baggage, Robinson's and Pickfords. We have a one bedroom flat and we aren't shipping lots of furniture so we knew that groupage was what we wanted. All reps came over in the space of 2 days and we had quite different experience and difference in advice. From the meetings with the reps we wanted Robinson's to win the price battle as the rep was very knowledgeable and we completely fell for his sales pitch!! Excess and Pickfords both came back with quotes straight away, very similar in price massively difference in cubic foot! Robinson's then came back yesterday with a very competitive quote and a realistic cubic foot estimate! So that's who we are going for, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly..... Please make sure you ask robinsons to say if the fee includes AQUIS quarantine fees as the auz govenrment on charge 40 dollars for a 20ft container, but robinsons ( partners in auz) add a further 480 dollars for handling.....which they do not tell you, and this is a fixed fee the auz part have agreed with uk part - so uk part can not say they do not know a figure.........so please get it in writing via email, so you can have it to refer to when they add a 520 dollar quarantine processing fee, to which it is only 40 dollars they are charged. regards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
