funkyashbash
Hello folks, my names Ashley. I'm a 25 year old, 3 year experienced mental health nurse from Glasgow. I've been giving this amazing opportunity to work in Melbourne for at least 2 years. I'm naturally apprehensive and scared making the big move myself so i would welcome anybody in my similar situation or who has made the move. I'm planning to move in June, as my sister is getting married at the end of may. I've told my employer this is when I'm aiming to make the move therefore I have a rough start date sometime in June. I visited Melbourne myself in march 2012 for a month. I loved the city, met the most lovely, genuine people and ultimately went for a job interview and was granted a post I would highly appreciate it if anyone could just make me feel welcome, just generally additional support. I'll need to find a place to stay until I find my feet so any ideas or recommendations are welcome folks. I'm young, love life and a party animal at heart so I'm always up for coffees and drinks for socialising. Please PM me if you want to chat. Thank you Ash

funkyashbash
Hi Tracey lovely to hear from u. Glad to hear a fellow Scottish nurse who has made the move. I trained at Stirling uni, been in my post now for 3 years. I would love to meet up and hopefully u can give me advice etc. to be honest I'm shitting myself but think that's normal and it's reassuring to hear u love it. I'm delighted for u. I have a job with northwestern mental health. I'm sure it's acute psychiatric, pending on available posts when I come out in June. Probs will be in the wards which will be a culture shock as my current post for the last 3 years is community based 9-5. I would love a community post lol where r u based? This is my email address instead of using this funkyashbash@aol.com Speak soon Ashley
