Rugby Lad
Good article here http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/poppies-not-pokies-will-help-our-veterans-says-rsl-chief-20130423-2icri.html# about criticism of RSL Clubs and Clubs NSW from the head of the RSL in NSW. I think he makes a very good point about the disconnect between a welfare organisation for ex-servicemen and women and the gambling emporiums that most RSL Clubs now are. I also think this is part of the general blowback against Clubs NSW and sports betting as a result of the ramming of gambling down the throats of, particularly NSW and Qld , sports fans by Channel 9. starlight7
Croydon RSL refuses to earn money by using poker machines. Good for them. They get funds just by selling badges, poppies etc. My Dad ( ex RAF) was amused that anyone can join the RSL- no matter which side they fought on!
