Only people I know are through work so far. I am from Edinburgh, hubbie from SA. Would love to meet up with other ex pats, especially playdates with other young kids at weekends! Jennie Port Stephens, Hunter Valley, Newcastle is one if the best areas in the country and very friendly. Shouldn't be to hard to make friends there....
