I am a 31 year old mother of two girls ages nearly 5 and 18 months who has recently migrated with my husband to the Black Rock area in Bayside, Victoria I am still finding my feet but would love to meet up with any other Mums nearby who have young children of similar ages. My eldest daughter is desperately missing her friends back in the UK so it would be lovely for her to mix with some other similar aged children and make new friends! Ali B Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Hi Linzi, I'm in eastern burbs and my girls are 23 21 15 so not really right age or place but when we came over I was in similar situation. Made friends for my toddler quickly through playgroups and for my elder girls in Primary School playground at drop off pick up time. I also volunteered to help in their classes and the school was happy for me to joggle my toddler on my knee while listening to Preppies read. being in the class for an hour or two per week was a good contact point with other parents. If so she may be able to get in here, my daughter isn't 5 til next week but as she had done over 2 terms in the UK we got permission from the regional education director (not sure of exact title as my wife sorted it) and she started at the start of the new term, she loves it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
