I've been trawling PIO for recommendations and see that 'pots and pans' frequently come up as the local alternatives are of poor quality and/or expensive. Thought I'd share some Sydney insider info for those of you who've just arrived and are looking to kit out your kitchen. There's a large store called Peter's of Kensington (in Kensington, near Randwick) that was a favourite of mine when setting up house in Sydney - it sells good quality cookware types of things well below RRP (so it's generally cheaper than Grace Bros/Myer/David Jones).
