Celt Down Under
Whats it really like living that way of life? My daughter is married to a serviceman. Not sure what you are after re info, but it is probably much like what it is in the UK. Moves to another posting in the country every 2 years. Living in Defence Force homes most time, which are often privately owned but leased to the DFA. Do stints at overseas posting as required, leaving family and children at home. (SIL has served in the Sinai peacekeeping, and also served in Iraq). Children moving schools every couple of years and having to make new friends again. Types of homes available through the DF vary according to rank. SIL is a Major, so housing on offer to that rank is pretty good, but obviously costs more. If no one who is serving responds to you, and you want more in depth questions answered, PM me and I will ask my daughter for the answers.
ErmintrudeMcMoo
Hubby is in the RAN, pay is good when on ship. Lots of times when he is away, so etimes for 6 months at ago but you just put your head down and get on with it. The absences certainly make or break you as a couple. Was there anything specific you wanted to know?
