Matchams
Is there anybody in or near Sandgate who has teenage boys? We arrived here at the end of November and they are driving us crazy and we've still got another 6 weeks before they start school!!! Struggling to find any clubs or get a response from the local soccer teams - is there anybody out there in a similar position who fancies meeting up - have car will travel!:twitcy:
Xenon4017
It's the wrong season for soccer; cricket is in at the moment. Although there are plenty of parks, they tend to cater for <12's. Maybe go to KMart and buy a couple of fishing rods. Or splash out on a theme park pass.
Matchams
Thanks for the tips, fishing is definitely a goer. The main problem is they need their own circle of friends and I'm struggling coming up with anything coz of the time of year
Xenon4017
Yep. teens just don't "go out and play". They just hang out with people they already know. You could try the police youth club down by the racecourse.
family of five
How old are your boys? Redcliffe surf club is great all my kids go there and there are a few members who live in Sandgate so they would have some friends in the local area. Season starts back 5th Jan. PatW
Welcome to Queensland! OH & I arrange migrant get-togethers/bbq every 3 months and the next is Saturday 18 Jan at the Parkside Park/bbq area, Aurora Boulevard, North Lakes (behind Bounty Boulevard School). 2.30pm til you have to go. BYO everything you need: food, drinks, chairs, etc. There's play equipment, skateboard area, large playing field. We have about 8 families turn up and some come from Scarborough/Redcliffe areas. You'd be most welcome to come along, have a chat & see how you go.
