wendy
Hi All, I am moving to Perth and must activate my visa by 31st May this year. I was looking to book my flight last evening and it seems that a one way ticket is pretty much the same price as a return ticket. I am probably the only person on the planet that wasn't aware of this, my question is.... is there any way around it?

bell123321
Could you buy an open return in case you want or need to go back? If it's the same price you might as well buy the return even if you don't use it. It may be possible to get the return part refunded later on? Guest
The short answer is No. Even open returns / refundable tickets are priced in such a way that you'd be better off just putting up with the cost.
Britpop
If I understand correctly and you want to pay less for a single... You could fly to S.E Asia and get a single onward, you'd still pay the return price to Asia but onward you'd save. But if you have any plans to go home, buy the return for as late as you can (1 yr from date booked) and extend it. I find kayak.co.uk returns the best prices, use flexi dates +\- 3 days for the return.
