libbye
We lived in the bush in Victoria in a place called Lal Lal so I know what you mean when you talk about possums and other hungry little devils. The parrots ate every bit of fruit we ever managed to grow but we used to leave carrots for the kangaroos and wallabies and it sure was a delight to see and hear them crunching away at night. Not too keen on the variety of snakes though. Wasn't sorry to leave them behind.

As long as it doesn't get over 30 degrees or down to freezing in the winter, the weather here suits me perfectly.

I buy my fruit and veg straight off farms - nicer and far cheaper - either that or the local fruit and veggie shop. I also grow a few bits and pieces of my own produce. libbye
Buying direct from producer even better and it's good to know you can. I do enjoy the atmosphere of a market though but of course France survives on it's markets so a different culture. Some of them are wonderful and I enjoy the buzz. Sitting in a nice square having a coffee and people watching is another enjoyable pastime. However, if we do manage to come to Tas will accept what it has to offer and be happy. After all we've spent the last 13 years enjoying France and a new scene will be interesting in our dotage.

libbye
Sounds and looks splendid. So nice to be able to buy local produce and fresh. I remember buying superb bread in Aus. Sour dough was very popular
