LQriggs
Hi All - So I previously held a 457 visa (2012-2015) applied and apporved with no issues - I then left Australia and informed immi to cancel my visa as I had left. they sent me an email with visa cancelation etc. I am now being offered a new role in Sydney and will be going for a new 457 my question is will the fact that I have had a australian visa cancelled before make a difference to the application? Even if the reason it was cancelled was that I informed the department that I was leaving? Also are there ever any issues with going for a second 457 visa? Thanks in advance for any help. Suzukiscottie
You did the right thing previously. You'll be fine this time too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MaggieMay24
It shouldn't be any issue. If you're asked why your visa was cancelled, you could reply "at visa holder's request due to leaving Australia" or something like that.

MaggieMay24
I assume an internal check is simply their normal processing.

MaggieMay24
I assume it's reviewing all your documents, making sure you meet the criteria for the visa, making sure your information matches the nomination information, etc. This is just a guess though, as I've never worked as a case officer.
