RustyxSquiggle
I think home affairs are simply overwhelmed at the moment because of Covid. I came out in early Feb before my family on a temporary visa , Covid hit and net result is I have not seem my family for 7 months now. No way to go home, no way for them to come out. I pretty much have my fingers crossed every day for a decision.

I came in last week of december 2019 on temporary visa and could not see my family for 8 months now. I don't see home affairs is overwhelmed. They are just not approving visas and nomination and doing only cherry-pick for some occupations. Such a shame as doing really well in my job.

Nneeri
Writing on behalf "I have situation here, can someone help with the below queries. My 457 Visa is expired recently and currently I am on bridging visa A working with the same employer who sponsored 457. I have got a job where the new company is OK to sponsor 186 Direct entry. Below are my questions? 1) Is it possible to change employer while you are on bridging visa A? 2) Is it possible to raise 186 Direct Entry visa with new employer, any restrictions? New employer mentioned they can sponsor as soon as I join? Thanks, "

kimbasil
Hi all, need some inputs on this please. I work as a chef. My current employer who sponsored my visa482, still haven't reopened any of their venues. Now i am looking for a new restaurant to work for. Question is - lets say I got a new employer, instead of transferring my work visa 482, i will ask them to sponsor me 186DE, is this possible? Is it possible for my new employer to sponsor me 186 Direct Entry straight away? or do i have to work for them for some time? (lets say they agreed to sponsor me 186) Thanks guys. Been down lately, as i keep on thinking about our PR amid the pandemic Good luck to everyone and stay safe.

I was in more or less similar situation but on a different skill set.

Indeed man, nothing updated since December 2019 (medical), it’s only “received” .And what’s killing me , is being apart from family (my wife and son are in overseas). Didn’t meet them since Feb 2019 and I am stuck in here while waiting for this uncertain future decision.

Agree, but you will not be able to work with the new employer until: - the 186 DE is granted OR - you transfer your 482 to the new employer first (i.e. when the new nomination is approved)
