Career Advice. What should I train for?

Hi

I currently live in the UK. I want to move to AUS on a working and traveling visa.

I am a hard worker. I am also agood cook. But chef salaries don't look that high compared to tradies in Australia when I have researched it.

I don't want to be picking fruit for 6 months or serving drinjs behind a bar for $21/hr. I want to do skilled work for a higher pay.

I can do an intensive level 3 NVQ course in the UK as an electrician, carpenter, plumber or bricklayer to name but a few and complete it in a few months.

Can I then come to Aus and work in some kind of junior role as an Assistant?

I have been considering Trade Assistant role so far ( electrician assistant).

The visa you are looking at has a big clue in the name - holiday. It is a working holiday where you are there mainly to have a holiday with the ability to work to subsidise your travels. The sort of courses you are looking at aren't going to help a lot. Employers are not normally going to pay for training and things - something that even trade assistants need by law - for someone that can only work for 6 months for them.
