Katiebobbles
Oooh Heather ... very exciting who are you shipping with??? March will come around super quick. We have the usual suspects coming to quote at the end of Jan .... gonna pop the house on the market in early Jan and plan to move in July .... We have decided to give the full 12 months to hope the visa is in then can start work straight away. Otherwise I'm on a 600 onshore waiting .... although do-able not ideal so we will see. Also gives me 6 months to clear out our cupboards and clothes etc that I'm not looking forward to!!!!

Some clearing out has happened but more needs to go! Flip from being totally overwhelmed to excited and quite rational about it all!

Fingers crossed we get our visas before then, if not then it's holiday visas which we have & pop across to New Zealand We have 18 days left in this house - rented- then 3 nights in a Premier Inn. It's getting real now, ive just listed my car for sale today, totally gutted me as I bloody love it We're also Brisbane bound, well just outside - looking at Upper Coomera, Pimpama, Ormeau. We looked around schools on our last holiday but due to a delay in moving my oldest daughter will now be starting High School!! Ive got an English estate agent over there looking for rental houses for us, so fingers crossed we can get somewhere pretty quick as we need an address for schools & to buy a car! We lodged on 22nd August, and got asked for further info on 3rd December so we are on exact same timescales at the moment! When did you get your extra info in and what did they ask you for, if you dont mind me asking? Our request for more info was a bit baffling - they wanted to know what countries my partner (the applicant) had lived in for more than 12 months in the past 10 years - hes scottish and has lived in the same house near Manchester for 13 years, so no more info to offer there (plus they already had all that from his address history and travel history for the past 10 years from the application). Then they also asked for more proof of our relationship, so we gave them everything we could possibly think of, including phone bills, several years of car insurance certs with the other as named driver, more joint travel bookings from holidays etc and a statement from my partner.... hopefully they have enough now as I'm not sure what else we can give them!

My husband is the Aussie and he was asked for an Australian Police cert as well as a UK one. He also had to give his travel details for the last 10 years which was mainly back and forth to Australia. We've been together 13 years, married 10 with no kids. I'm hopeful that we are a pretty straight forward case but who knows! [emoji12]
Katiebobbles
My hubby thinks if they can buy time by asking a question they do ... that way they can stop the clock on our applications until we reply. Apparently it's something people in IT departments do when they have loads of tickets I personally think they are now under so much scruinity that they wont assume anything they just ask the question to ensure every i is dotted and t is crossed so there is no comeback on them .... which you can understand. I just hope Santa was good to them at Xmas and they are all back raring to go!!!! Gems1984 enjoy the sun it's murkey and cold here ... I just saw a deal today UK to various Australian cities on Jack's Flights between £500-£600 rtn with Cathay Pacific / China Southern (Feb-Nov excl July/Aug).. also, does anyone know once the 309/100 is granted what is the deadline that one has before last entry to activate/validate visa? I was thinking about it tho I doubt we hear this week. A lot of the COs seem to be Spanish (huge generalisation on the names of COs on RFIs and that Madrid closed so prob were re-assigned) but if that is the case Spain celebrates Xmas on the 6th Jan .... so they may not be back to work til next week???? I dunno just trying to make up a reason we haven't heard of any grants since before Xmas!!!!!

I’m from the UK and married to an Australian for 6 years, we have owned a house together for 8 years and we have a daughter aged 6 who is also dual citizen in UK and Australia with Ozzie passport etc. We applied for my visa on 13 May and had acknowledgement the same day, my medicals were requested immediately and loaded 2 week later. We’ve not heard anything since and not been assigned a case officer. Is there anyone else who’s in a similar situation and has any advice on this. Be interested to know other peoples experience and timelines so that it gives me something to work towards as at the moment we have no idea if it’ll be months or years! We’ve sold our house ready for the move and are renting until we hear. Hi Nadine1, did you manage to get it by Christmas in the end? Good luck with everything.
