Contributory Aged Parent Visa 864

Hi there, HELP PLEASE!

I applied for the Visa 864 in November 2016 and now have been asked for AoS, police checks, medicals etc. My husband is gravely ill and receiving palliative care. We have a doctor's letter to say that he's unfit to travel. I have been told that I can remove my husband from our joint application by filling in Form 1022, and that I will not need to reapply. I was also told that I could apply for Visa 602 Medical treatment visa, (he is not receiving treatment but sees GP monthly for strong painkillers & other medication) or a visitor visa for him. At present we receive Medicare as reciprocal.

Q 1: If I DON'T remove him from the application, will I be refused too?

Q. 2: If I apply for Visa 602 or Visa 600 would he be eligible for Medicare?

Thank you in advance for any help/advice.

Firstly I am sorry to hear about your husbands illness, as if that isn’t difficult enough without the visa issues.

You really need to take advice from a registered agent ASAP. Are you in Australia?  Sorry it isn’t clear from what you have posted.
