Jon the Hat
You can buy one in the airport when you land.
amibovered
You can get some on ebay, not sure how easy it would be to register them though.
kevsan
in theory you can, you can register them anywhere in the world online or call them... but the big providers dont tend to send sims out internationally, so you might need to get someone to send you one... or as mentioned above try your luck on ebay
Johndoe
All sims have to be signed for showing proof of id to the best of my knowledge. It was introduced after 9/11 but I thought they had since done away with it, but I signed for my son's new phone delivered yesterday and they asked for my ID. The delivery man said it had nothing to do with signing for delivery to prove receipt per se, but was "for security reasons" and was a "compulsory thing from the Gov't"
amibovered
I did get a Australian sim card off ebay a couple of months ago, and was able to register it online from the UK, but I do have an address in Australia to use, and Aussie id, so that might have helped.
