SusieRoo
Good to see 143s now moving up to June 2016, but what’s happen to the 173s? Anyone else on a 173 with February or March lodgement and still waiting?
KatherineM
@SusieRoo...we lodged in January 16 and we're still waiting.

I did the test email thing this morning and they are ‘officially’ processing up to 16th Feb for both 173 and 143 visas. I hope you hear something soon.
JoMichellle
Hi, I have been looking out for news for 173 applications also. Was hoping it was because there are so few of us that I hadn’t seen any movement on here, so this is rather depressing news.

Sending a blank email to parents@homeaffairs.gov.au with something in the subject line.... it sends you an auto response with details about parent visa categories and their timelines something like this -

Mygov website keeps crashing and Centrelink overwhelmed with enquires. Immigration will also be very very busy with temporary visa enquires etc., keep safe everyone
SueLee
Dear all Yes, let’s not add more trouble into the already crashing myGov centerlink site. In this incredible period, give them time. Do our part. Stay indoor. Keep Physical social distancing.

There's not much point in hassling them anyway. The Prime Minister is saying the emergency measures will be in place for at least six months and possibly longer. So even if your parent visa gets approved, you will not be able to get a flight to enter Australia for several months.

There are exceptions, but I am not going into details here. With the latest border closure, I assume all offshore 143 applications are now on hold, people might still hear from their case officers asking additional docs etc, but there will be very few 2nd vac requests and visa grant notices. I hope everyone stay safe, follow the social distancing rules and avoid gathering. good luck
Alan Collett
Maybe we'll start to see 864's being processed again ... the Government could do with the 2nd VACs, don't you think? Best regards.

Will you be allowed enter Australia now that it’s in lockdown. Are you classed as a permanent resident before it’s validated?

We have a year to validate the visa but i think we would be considered as PR on arrival but of course we would look for official confirmation before travelling
