hubbert0403
Hi all, our adult daughter, who suffers various arthritis issues, anxiety and depression is not doing well back in the UK. she has a son,11, who has ADHD and mild autism, a daughter, 4, who also has traits of ADHD. she is looking at coming here for a year, possibly just a tourist visa, for us to assist with the children and help her health but we have no idea what would happen regarding g schooling, we know we would be required to look after their health matters, ie meds etc ut need some direction on the other info. Marisawright
Actually if they are currently resident in the UK, they would be covered while in Australia under the reciprocal health agreement, so meds etc shouldn't be a problem. I can't help with the schooling issue I'm afraid, hopefully someone else will be able to help.
gaia
I just had a quick google and New South Wales and Queensland would both charge $300 per week per child to attend primary school! Also apparently on a tourist visa you can’t attend school for more than 3 months in total. She may be able to home educate the children though, it’s certainly much more common to home or distance educate children here in Queensland than it was in the Uk.
