lepea
Hi, I applied for a travel exemption last night in a hope that it might speed up my visa application. I received this email this morning. I have had my medicals and uploaded police checks for my husband and me. Attached all relevant docs and completed the sponsors application. Any ideas what we could have missed? Thanks in advance. Quoll
Basically they havent finished processing it yet - it hasnt even been a year yet and spouse visas are taking 12 - 18 months. No point in applying for an exemption until they have processed it and you have the visa in hand. You arent going to spur them along to process it any quicker, things have slowed down with this virus thing and it was taking over 12 months anyway. Patience! lepea
If I had the visa I wouldn’t need an exemption. On my Immi account it says they are prioritising processing visas for those that are exempt from current travel bans. How will they know who is exempt without people applying and being granted an exemption? The time frame is currently 16-22 months. Yes I should be patient however various reasons mean we need to travel to Australia ASAP. Edited July 27, 2020 by lepea
