Markcleaver66 Posted Friday at 19:48 Share Posted Friday at 19:48 Does anyone know how long before the expiration date can you re-apply for a returning residents visa (sub-class 155)? Also, must the application be made in Oz? Thanks, Mark
Ausvisitor Posted Saturday at 17:17 Share Posted Saturday at 17:17 You can apply for it at any time, the only thing is when it is granted it supercedes whatever you currently have. Let's say you have a 190 with 2.5 years gone and 2.5 years to go. If you apply today and are successful you will get a new RRV valid for (probably) 5 years, which means 5 years from today, whereas if you had waited until the existing 190 travel portion ran out you would have still qualified for the RRV and got a new 5 years. So the only reason not to apply tomorrow is if you have loads of time left on your existing one or you haven't quite hit the 2 years in Oz qualification that gets you the full 5 years. You can be anywhere when you apply for it
