Ryso
Thanks for that. I think its still the same as you cant access the online application untill you have a valid code for a passed IELTS test which means I cant see exactly what they require. Did you just sent all the same stuff that is required for aphra because Ive already collected most of that anyway.Oh and OMG ive just started studying for the IELTS god only knows how you can study for that lol anyway looks like Ive got my work cut out for me for the next few months so any advice or info given will be gratefully received. Thanks x

Keep us posted xx
Ryso
Thanks again your help is gratefully appreciated. Ive started gathering some of that stuff but what is initial registration certificate ? I dont have one of these. You'll be fine with AHPRA as you will have most of the info from the skills assessment so fingers crossed you dont have any probs with them. I'll defo keep you posted although im so not looking forward to this IELTS wish I had attempted it ages ago as I wont have much time to resit in time for applying before the July changes. I know that you need a course transcript but i went into my university today and they said they needed to know exactly what was required. Can anyone help me?? Thanks xx You need an "overseas transcript" detailing all your course details - theory and practice. I just applied for mine online, cost £60, they send it directly to AHPRA, can take up to 6 weeks.

Guest isis1mcc
Hi there everyone, this might be a daft question. I am AHPRA registered till August 2012. But i have to present myself at their Brisbane office. Wanted to ask the nurses who applied for 457 visas how long it took and also if I can work anywhere in Australia or does it mean I have to be Brisbane - which I really hope I can work anywhere as trying to get a job in Brisbane is proving extremely difficult!! Also wanted to ask the UK nurses what you needed eg medical records for immunisations and did you go to OT and get this or how did you go about proving your jags? Last question what does a medical on the 457 visa entail, I hear it will only be myself going for the test and not my hubby or 2 year old daughter. (CXR, bloods, urine test) Any info will be great:) Isis
traceyd
Hi Isis, I think I am in the same position as you. I applied to the Adelaide office (AHPRA) and have to present there by 8th November 2012, but I cannot find any paediatric jobs in Adelaide. It looks like I will be going on 457 visa once I get a job and sponsorship. I emailed AHPRA and they told me that once I have the eligibility letter I can present to any office to confirm registration. Tracey
Guest isis1mcc
Cheers thats good news then so I can work anywhere and present anywhere, would telephone them first though. Now to find a job:) Good luck tracey am general medical nurse and no speciality - appears Australia is needing specialist nurses so you'll get something where as me I think I'm really going to have to go all out and really sell myself. good luck.
