EXTENDED OUTLOOKThe SW/S wind change will move off the southern and central coasts of Queensland by early Sunday with the winds then shifting to the S to SE thereafter across most of the state. A weak trough will form about the eastern interior during Sunday as the coastal winds push low level moisture inland. A few showers will develop about the coast south of Fraser Island due to the moderate to fresh SE stream. Moderate to fresh SE winds will become established along the entire east coast on Monday and will persist til at least Wednesday. These winds will direct a few showers into most east coast districts. These showers will extend onto the Granite Belt area on Monday as an upper cold trough moves into the area in the afternoon and destabilizes conditions. The inland trough will slip into central areas of the state on Tuesday as moisture levels increase over eastern areas of the state. A few showers will occur near this trough on Tuesday and increase on Wednesday as a new upper cold trough moves into the area. Some storms will also develop and possibly increase to rain at night. Temperatures across the state will generally return to near average from the weekend onwards as the flow across the state shifts to the SE to NE.
