Perth reccie advice

Wonder if anyone would be able to help?

We're coming out for a reccie in march (will also be going to brisbane), we'll be in perth approx 2wks. We want a holiday rental and need advice on best areas to stay to explore a bit?

We preferably want to eventually live within a short drive of the coast, near good public transport links in a nice family suburb. Also an area that isn't too expensive but still nice. I'm a nurse so obviously will be working at a hospital and don't want too much of a commute.

Also whats the best way to get a holiday rental?

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

We got back from our Perth reccie on Saturday. You will love it and not be disappointed. Perth is an amazing place.

We stayed in a house called Sea Breeze which was in Frementle (booked through STAYZ.COM.AU - Google STAYZ). We didn't actually chose to stay in Freo as we wanted to be NOR (north of the river) by Hillarys. Our house rental fell through unfortunately so we had to take the last suitable thing that was available. Frementle is nice but personally not for us (Sorry Jules!). You should have your pick of accommodation at the time of year yr going though.

STAYZ is the best site to use and it has loads of holiday lets. However, you should have an idea of where you want to be. South of the River or North of the River is a good start. We'd already got an idea of suburbs we would consider to live that were commutable for the CBD. If you have children you may want to consider places where the beaches are child friendly. We found City Beach and Cottesloe really nice and Hillarys Harbour has places to swim. They all have playgrounds (you'll be shocked by how many!) so younger children are very well catered for.

Yr best bet might be to find out the hospitals first on a map and then look at the areas close by. Nothing is too far from the coast unless you fancy living east of Perth. And to be honest, all suburbs look nice when the sun is shining. You'll have to research deeper than the surface.

Our personal choice and where we'll look to be living ended up being Joondalup and the surrounding areas on the train line to CBD. It's also only a 15 min drive to the coast.

If you need any more info/opinion, you can PM me.

Good luck, Jo

We are going on a reccie in April. We are looking at the Ellenbrook area or the coastal area North of Perth. Our accommodation has let us down so we need to find furnished rental for 3-4 weeks, plus car rental. Any help from others would be gratefully appreciated. I am being made redundant in 3 weeks so our budget has been reduced and we have to tighten our belts. But the flights are booked and paid for so there is no way it'll stop us now! Love to hear your advice..

Hi, we stayed with a couple at Ocean reef, called Calypso View ref 54059 with www.stayz.com.au. There names are Ann and Hugh and they were fantastic, couldnt do enough for us. They introduced us to people, took us to places and all this between working. The apartment is in the house and is lovely, exceptionally clean and a great base to expore Perth. Hope this helps.
