Guest AnotherLurker
I was contacted by my CO for the first time today, she is based in Brisbane. She said that they were setting up the office after the Queensland floods; hence the delay. She would contact me next week for an update. I had written to Global feedback on Monday and called them up today morning and recieved the call from CO after 30 mins. Coincidence?? maybe, but I would recommend anyone who has been waiting outside the timeline as stated by the website to lodge a 'feedback' on the immigration website. My case: ENS 856 Nom + App lodged on 16 June 2010 at Parramatta, Non ETA country, IT, on a Bridging A visa right now in Sydney.
Guest sharry
Thought it was about time I registered and added our details. We have been reading this website for months and it has helped so much. May as well add our info. Me and hubbie currently in Melbourne on 457, been here since August 2008. PR (856) Nomination lodged 01/11/2010. Havent lodged our part yet as me trying to diet before i go for my medical!!!!!!!!!! I am beginning to wish we had now given how long it is all taking. Think we're in for a long wait. Dont know how to add our details to the spreadsheet. You know what its like when work gets on top of you and you just start to feel trapped by the whole visa thing. We like Melbourne, but think in the longer term we will move to Perth, seems we might be more suited to there, less busy, smaller city, closer to the beach etc. No offence to anyone in Melbourne, we do really like it but we all have to find the right place for each of us to settle when we give up so much to have our Australian life. This is such a great country and wherever we settle, it will still be great.
Guest martin brisbane87
This is so frustrating... Firstly the 'official' timeframe is still 5-7 months. We have the right to complain after this time. Also, once a C.O is allocated, we should have a clear update on when the case will be finalise OR a request for more documents. As stated by Immigration themself: You will be contacted by a case officer within 2 working days of the employer nomination and/or visa application being allocated, with either:arghh: an outcome for decision-ready cases or a request for additional information or documents. Until a case is allocated, we are unable to provide you with advice regarding processing timeframes. ........:arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:i dont know what to say..................the only person i can contact is my M.A ,she dont wana push my case officer ,i think i should sit tight and break my head.............:arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:

desreb
I'm hoping to join this list soon. Coming over on a 121, if and when the nomination is lodged. My company uses Fragomen, and they take an age to reply each time. It's just occurred to me that even without my 121 application form and documents, they can still process the company's nomination in the meantime. Guest sam24
Hi All, My organisation is about to start the application process for 121.Which might take some 6-9 months of processing time.Btut the organisation requires me start of my work in 2-3 months. 1) Is there a chance of getting my 121 in 3 months(I doubt it myself), if I put in the nomination and Visa part at one go. 2) Can we go for a 457 visa as the 121 is still in process. 3) What might happen if the processing coincides. DRC lodgement can only be done through a Registered Migration Agent. You need to get a reliable RMA to check your docs and lodge them as DRC. You can lodge both Nomination and Visa application together under DRC. Your RMA will check the completeness of all the docs before they will lodge it. It's their responsibility to lodge a COMPLETE nomination and application (including Medicals and Police checks). Processing times for DRC varies, some got it in a week. Some got it in a month but give it a 1-2 months lead time. I suggest that you should contact a reliable and good RMA to start with. Cheers! Hi - nope no reason that we were informed of & we didn't have to give any extra docs so I guess it's just one of those things - we're not married though so maybe they wanted to double check our defacto docs - that's the only thing I can think of anyway

Guest boulam51
Hey guys, I know this is off subject but probably one of you can answer this... I am looking on the 457 conditions and I cannot see where exactly it is stated that the employee needs to work full time (38 hours). I know that an employee needs to be paid a certain salary, but does it HAVE to be full time? If an employee will still be paid same amount of money during a financial year but work less hours, does it matter? Thanks for helping out.
