Hi All,

I found out from my CO this week that my wife might have to have another x-ray when she redoes her medical. The problem with this is that she is pregnant so she cannot have an x-ray. The place where she is getting her medical done may be able to use the last one she did in September 2009 if not then she will have to wait until she gives birth in May. If she has to wait until May to have her x-ray then we definitely won’t be getting our visa until after then.

Sorry to hear that Rich. Hopefully you guys will be able to use the old one...

Hi Everyone,

I've not posted anything before, but have used the forum as a reference during my visa application so thought it only right I should post my timeline!

Nomination submitted - 19/08/2010

Application submitted - 18/10/2010

Nomination approved - 10/02/2011

Nomination approved - 10/03/2011

So my PR was approved yesterday! To the best of my knowledge, all done through Parramatta.

What can I say apart from an extremely stressful few months, but it sounds like I have been lucky given some of the time frames others are waiting on.

Good Luck to everybody who is awaiting news!!

She can use the old x-ray! Let's hope we get a decision before the baby is born, she's due on the 19th of May.

Things seem to be moving along quite quickly on my 856 with a DRC.

All paper work submitted with the application (essential with DRC)

Nomination Submitted: 3rd Dec '10

Nomination Approved: 11th Feb '11 (Not bad considering Christmas & NY Holidays)

Visa Application Submitted: 21st February

Case Officer Assigned: 11th March (15 working days)

Immigration email quotes the following:

"You will be contacted by a case officer within 2 working days of the visa application being allocated, with either an outcome for decision-ready cases or a request for additional information or documents."

and therefore I hope/expect to have a final outcome this week!

I think cuz we've been waiting so long I start thinking about anything tha could go wrong. My hubby is a panel beater & his wage is above the 47000 a year but I was reading about the TSMIT and I'm worrying that if the other employers don't earn that, then

the nomination will be refused. Do they ask to see what everyone else makes? Any panel beaters get the ens visa?

I'm probably just getting paranoid but a little re-assurance would be great!!

PR Approved using a migration lawyer and Decision Ready Checklist.

Nomination Submitted: 3rd Dec '10

Nomination Approved: 11th Feb '11 (Not bad considering Christmas & NY Holidays)

Visa Application Submitted: 21st February

Case Officer Assigned: 11th March (15 working days)

PR Approved: 15th March

All paper work submitted with the application. Migration Lawyer said it's the quickest application he's ever done! So relieved. No calls or questions from Immigration either! Went from 417 Working Holiday to 457 and now 856. Basically, I think if you have a reputable employer and no character or health issues it's all fairly straight forward.

Good luck everybody!

Yes it can be straight forward, especially with a DRC, you are very lucky, but the majority of people on here have been waiting, 6, 7 8 months as we submitted just before the DRC came in to effect. We have a reputable employer, good character and no health issues as well!!

Hi all,

I think DRC only works if your occupation is in demand. I am a Graphic Designer and have lodged a complete DRC application about 6 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from DIAC.

Any one with the same profession awaiting for the decision?

Cheers,

Ashish

I heard from my case officer last Friday after finally getting the courage to send an email when my RMA told me he had been ill and wouldn't be able to work on anything for me for at least a week.

My case officer told me he had been assigned my nomination and visa application for about a week now, but that he had 8-10 to look at before mine and he would most likely get to mine by mid this week.

Thursday evening and still no word, here's to hoping for tomorrow.

Both nomination and application lodged on 08/09/2010 to Parramatta.

That's good news, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I went to see a specialist yesterday who said it will take him a month to put together his report for immigration. He's asked me to take a blood test and an ultrasound of my kidneys and the I have to see him again on the 8th April. I'm not sure if I'll get my visa before the 19th May when my baby is due.

Hi Rich,

Is there any advantage to get your visa before the birth of your child?
