Hey!

My partner (Mark, 25) and I (Ella, 24) moved to Perth 3 weeks ago. We're currently living with his family in Yokine. I worked as a teacher in the U.K but have just got a part-time job in a pub to meet people. Mark is an engineer and will be working away- 3 weeks on and 1 week off starting next week... so I need a social life! I'd love to meet up for drinks etc.

If you're on facebook add me... it's Ella Bruce (I have crazy glasses on in my profile pic)

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Look forward to hearing from you xxx

Hi all

In a similar situation to most, moved to Perth (Jan 2010) and to date do not really have a social life to speak of! Am living in Hillarys with my girlf who is Australian and am driving her nuts and she feels guilty me not having made any "going out with" friends

Any tips?

Cheers

Guest PommyKas

hey all

It would be good to arrange something where a few of us can meet, least that way it should be less awkward if two people do not have something in common and just sit there speaking about good old Blighty lol!

Just an idea especially as the sun has made an appearance again, maybe a Sunday sesh or something, though drinking is of course optional! (wow there are a lot of emoticons!)

Hi Tasha,

I'm 41 and moved from the UK with my husband 6 weeks ago.

We are also childless, my husband is working at the moment, and I am still waiting for my podiatry registration to come through. So the chance of meeting friends is slim at the moment.

We have just moved up to Quinns, so if you would like to meet up that would be great.

I am also on facebook so I will request you as a friend if that is ok?

Kathryn

I would be up for that! I just moved here in September and, having now got a house and a car and various other boring parts of getting settled, I'm now looking to see what Australia has to offer - in particular on the socialising front!
