dave and ange
Hi Everyone, I have recently moved to Brisbane west. I have a 15mth old daughter who needs to socialise with other babies and am looking for mother and toddler groups or play centres to take her to or any other mummies with babies. I'm also looking for a zumba class. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated - homesickness is beginning to set in so i need to get out and about and meet new people. Shaz36
Hiya, Sorry, I cant help right now, but hoping to be in Brisbane west early next year. I also love Zumba so will be looking for a class too. My sis lives nearby and I know her and her friends went to class so will ask where it was next time I call her. I have a 2yr old and 7 yr old and will be looking for ways to keep the wee one occupied so will be interested to hear what there is in the area. Sharon (smackey) lives in Chapel Hill and she organises meet ups so could be good to go to one of those to meet people. She also has a toddler, I think. I hope you find some ways to socialise as it must be hard until you find some friends, and its always a good way to find friends through the kids. Shaz p.s I am also from Glasgow! Guest scot2oz
Hi ange and dave, We are in the same possition. We have just moved to the Gold coast and have 2 kids one is 7 and one is 3. Although the 7 year old is at school, i am hanging out with my 3 year old all day. she needs friends as i need adult conversation. We are from glasgow so no need to worry about understanding each other. I dont know how far away we are but i drive and we could meet up for a coffee and it may take a tiny bit of the home sickness away. speak soon laura, kevin, brooke and boni ( I WILL PN YOU MY NUMBER )

Guest Benchola
Hey guys, We've had two meet-ups so far - one at New Farm Park and one at Rocks Riverside Park near Jindalee. They've both been a great success as they're a fantastic way of meeting people in a similar boat, and we're already seeing some good friendships begin to develop. The next meet-up is at Wellington Point on the coast on the 27 November 2010, so make sure that you can come along. There is another thread in here with more details and Failing that, just feel free to PM me and I'll give you my mobile number or email address and will give you more details. Hope you guys can make it. Matt

Hi Shaz, I am in a rental quite close to Chapel Hill and am looking to buy in Chapel Hill Kenmore area as it is really nice. I have found a zumba class but haven't been yet - plucking up the courage to go and make a fool of myself by myself. It usually helps to have a friend there. Wher in Glasgow are you from? Good luck and I hope everything goes to plan and you are here early next year. Ang
