Hi Clan Mac

Just noticed the date for your medicals, are you having them done in Edinburgh? We had ours there today, everything went relatively smoothly, nice (very new) place, lovely staff who put ourselves and our 4 year old at ease. OH's blood pressure was a bit high at first but he does have a fear of needles and was nervous about getting his blood taken. Got it taken a while later and was fine, phew! Were there for just under 2 hours and all results are being sent via e-health.

Cheers

Janice & Stuart

Hi Janice & Stuart,

Thanks for your encouraging post. We are having the medicals done in Edinburgh and feeling a bit anxious. Not really sure what's involved (X ray, urine, bloods, BP check and BMI check???) Glad to hear that the staff are friendly and helpful. We are also having our results sent via e-health. Did you have to pay extra for this?? Have read some other posts where the variance in costs ranged from a couple of quid to a couple of hundred

Hopefully you guys should hear something really soon. Best of luck and keep us posted.

PS anyone on here from Preston/Leyland area???? I will be in that vicinity this weekend for a specialist Zumba training?????

Turn us Green Gaz!!!! Woke up to the email this morning that we have had our Visa granted. House sale is going through so aim to be in South Oz mid June. Its been such a mixed day today, been able to confirm to friends & family & work. We are elated as you can imagine but find myself incredibly tearful as well with the realism of it all.

Good luck to you all there are so many of you that are so very close. I hope we can all keep in touch through Poms & we get to meet up 'over the other side!!' The support with you guys that understand has been amazing & I hope we can all support each other once we get over there.

Barbie at ours when we get there, you're all welcome, just bring a tinny or two!!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Brills news, congratulations.

As for the Barbie, you're on, we will see ya round your back garden then :jiggy:

Hi Lorraine & family

Regarding medicals in Edinburgh, firstly our appointment was changed as the doctor who normally does the oz meds was off sick but am sure they're all as nice as each other! Handed over our e-health forms and passports first, paid the fee (no extra charge for online processing) then had our photos taken. Taken through individually to see the nurse who checked weight, height, eye test, BP, blood test then finally urine, was bursting by then. Then went in to see the doctor who discussed what we had put down on the forms then did thorough testing of eyes, ears, throat, chest sounding, glands, blood circulation. No mention of BMI at any point. Was spared breast exam as am under 40, just. Next went for x-rays then we were done, were told that all results would be sent within a week. Have just checked and our daughter's are already finalised. Had been good and healthy all week so treated ourselves to a large glass or two of vino at home..

Hope this helps, feel free to PM us. Enjoy your weekend, Janice x

Hi there,

Why not rather wait until the visa is granted before resigning? Our house and car is sold and we are also staying with family.. Wish the grant's will come quickly now!!

Yeah if we dont get a grant letter before the 31st March then OH will have to wait to resign.

We had a cash offer on the house and was good price wise so we took it. The lawyers are working on it and because its a cash offer it will be a faster deal,as opposed to a person with a bond, that would take a while.:jiggy:

After talking it over we decided to take the offer,we have seriously out grown this house,,am emotionally detached now:nah:,we have lived here for 10 years and 6 months.

cheers

Jill

Hi Jill,

There is no where on the online form for it to say met is there, I was only thinking that the other day, I had to send Form 80 and the Police checks, and I noticed that there was no way of knowing if the CO had got these, so I emailed my agent last nite and asked her to check (She is used to me moithering her!!!) and I've just had email from her with case officers reply saying they r only waiting for Med's now and they note these are booked for the 8th April, so that's great!!! Am much happier now, so why don't u ask your agent to double check for u Hun, think we have the same agent Jill

Mine doesn't show any of that:eek:

Shows birth cert, passport, name change, ielts, skills assessment, marriage cert, passport photo, radiologist report, medical exam, state nomination - all met

Specific work experience - further checking required (although we aren't claiming these points)

That is all that is on my document checklist for me.. Nothing else:frown:

I actually did just ask him to email them and ask for a status update... Did you get a reply from your CO? Did you not email them last week?
