Hi Mike and Roberta Yes I have a job my parnter is going to get one hopefully after we have arrived. I just applied for my job online as we already had our visas in place. I have lived in oz for a bit before but not been to Perth heard nothing but good things about it. My job is in and around central Perth so we will rent for bit until we sort ourselfs out. leaving oct 14th coming round quick now very scary but looking forward to it. Yes! have been for the past 5 years, but we both had no 'skills' so partner had to go back to college to do city and guilds to become qualified electrician. no long now hopefully! want to start the proper process when we get back. spoke to an agent last week who said at the moment all up in air because tra are going and vetassess are coming in from 01/09/07 so they will be assessing differently. agent said it should mean the 7 years work experience which was required by tra is going to be stopped and vetassess are going to pay more attention to the actual skills and knowlege of the applicant. What are you 2 going over on? Oh i wish i was going for good, it will be great going for xmas and new year though - give us the push because we will know what its like. But we will have to meet up when we go over, you will have been there for a couple of months. My partner is worried to about meeting friends etc, i at least have my sister but he doesnt have a 'lad' to go down the pub with! He should be ok though - hopefully! i am going to call agent again in middle of september though to see what he says. process takes about a year so i want to be out there by end of next year, ive already found my house on a perth real estate site. I'm really worried about knowing no-one and, at least at first not being able to work so, it would be great to get in touch with others who are also heading out there and are in the same position. I (31) will be there from 27th October just for a week as I was there last month helping him move and settle and I only have a week's holiday left! I hope to join in Dec/Jan time.
