Petals
I do not know anything about Sanctuary Lakes other than where it is but I have seen people post who live in the area and I guess with it being school holidays etc they are busy at the minute so keep bumping your thread and I am sure someone will come and give some information. Also do a search as there may be a former post with information for you. Good idea to visit the Vic forum the link is at the foot of the page and put a post there too. Good luck

gparkes
I am sure with those jobs you would get something local, there is heaps of construction in this area! We love SL been here nearly 4 years now, my hubby does the commute to the city everyday and still likes being out here. ( maybe thats something to do with the golf tho!!) Not sure on work as my hubby works in the city he catches the train so takes about 50 mins door to door. There certainly seems to be loads of building work going on over in point cook so would imagine it would be easy. Sanctuary lakes is stunning, but research to find out about your internet as we can only use a wireless dongle, it is a minefield here and very confusing. And make sure you find a house you are totally happy with as we have had more than a few issues with our house and the agents don't rush themselves to do anything. But it is a beautiful place gym and pool and great bonuses and from our house we even get a view of the city good luck in your move, it knocks you sideways but we know its the place for us :cute:

We move over to Melbourne mid November. We hope to live in Point Cook which we visited on our reeccie last year. We have 2 girls under 3. Could you give me a bit more info on the day care you mentioned (costs, waiting list, time etc) if possible? I know it's a bit early but would love to keep in touch and arrange a meet-up in November or December....I'm gonna be so lonely I'm sure!!! I know it's a bit early but would love to keep in touch and arrange a meet-up in November or December....I'm gonna be so lonely I'm sure!!! Thanks x hi, my daughter who is 3 is going to a new day care called kids on the rise, it cost $75 a day which is from 6.30 to 6.30 although as summer is new to it i only leave her there for few house, but you still have to pay the same price. I found alot of places were full and had waiting lists, but as i don't work and only wanted to put summer in so she could mix with other kids and i could have some time out, i wasn't fussy on days so got her in on a monday. Depending on how much money you have coming into your household over here you can be entitled to child care benefit from centrelink (perm residents only) this pays some of the fees and then you get child care rebate which pays for out of pocket expenses, its a bit complicated to explain but we have done an application and according to the calculator we will get around $50 back. What i would advise is ring round then when you get here and arrange a tour and then decide which ones you prefer and out your children on the list, as we looked at a few and some we were not so keen on. If you need any further help pm me and i will get straight back to you time difference allowing..... Laura

We need to start thinking About school/nursery for our 4 and 2 year olds so we need to be in catchment area. You best get your wooly hat out, soon as we arrive the BBQ will be out rain or shine! swifty99
As far as i know when you rent in sanctuary lakes you get use of the facilities, we had to get a letter from the agent saying that the house owner was happy for us to use the facilities instead of him. If you look on realestate.com.au you can type in sanctuary lakes for the location and it will search this estate only. Where we are there is alot of new houses going up hence why we got a cheaper property. As for schools i don't think they start till 6 hear so your 4 year old would go to kindy. the day care my daughter goes to has kindy there as well they go from 6 weeks to school age, there are loads of day care places but alot of them have waiting lists mainly for 3 year olds, but as i wasn't working i wasn't bothered what day she went so she now goes on a monday. It costs around $75 a day from 6.30am to 6.30pm, and depending on your household income, you can get child day care and child care rebate, which helps with your day care costs (permanent residents only) If you have any other questions please feel free to drop me a pm and if i can help i will

Sorry not had chance to reply sooner - All of SL is nice but there is still alot of building going on on the south side - lots of the older housing is 2 storey but alot of the new stuff is bungalow style - depends on what type of house you like ? Rental prices for some of the bigger properties can be high and generally SL is is more expensive than other estates in Point Cook The main thing to check on the rentals is which school they are zoned for Seabrook & Point Primary have a good reputation but Altona Green not so good ( also awkward to get to due to Skeleton Creek ) Kinders are difficult to get into but migh tbe worth trying to put your kids name down now prior ro arrival ? If I can find the website there is a school zone map which might help All the best for your move Gazza

Guest GAZZA1000
Have to say I am not that impressed with the facilities as the pool isnt kid friendly as its too deep to leave them unattended and the sauna was broken when we went ! Also heard there going to knock down the tennis courts - cant comment on the golf course as I'm not a golfer Gazza1000
