Hi everyone,

We are Tara, 26 and Paul, 31, and have been in Perth for 4 months now, we would like to try and find a few couples to socialise with.

We're not into clubbing as Tara doesn't drink but we enjoy going out for dinner and going to bars. It would be great to meet a like minded couple for days and nights out etc etc.

If anyone is interested please let us know!

Hi, myself and my husband are 32 Irish couple. We will be moving to Perth in September (please god). My brother is 29 and he is already out there. I have cousin's living there years and I also have an Aunty who owns a bar in Jarrahdale. I'm sure on this site there will be a meet up organised. I know when we get there we would like to meet people too. It would be nice to have BBQ's, go for meal's etc... I actually saw on a thread "Irish people perth bound" on this site that a lot of people are in the same boat and want to meet people and start a social network.

No point in us organising a date as our arrival day is not confirmed yet. But, do stay in touch.

My Aunt's pub is called the Jarrahdale Tavern. I'm sure I'll be having a good aul Irish session there when I arrive.

Hi Paul and Tara,

It's a little way off yet but we fly into Perth in January 2012. We enjoy going out for dinner and to bars as well so maybe you'll have found some good ones by the time we arrive:wink:. We are 29 (me) & 32 (Paul). I hope you've been enjoying your time in Perth so far. Have you got settled into jobs yet?

Hi guys, thanks for the messages it would be good to stay in touch with you Jadeanna and Hevchick, and especially if you have partners with such great names!

Hevchick, we love Perth, we've had a few ups and downs but something as big as moving to the other side of the world is never going to be trouble free. We both have jobs but I wouldn't say we're settled into them, Hairdressing is not the same here as back in the UK so Tara is looking at a career change and for me going from being a firefighter to a 'normal job' is a tough transition so I'm looking to get back into the emergency services asap.

Hi Westernbrit, it would definitely be good to chat, although we're living in East Perth we are looking at moving to the western suburbs....alright north western, Cotto and Peppermint Grove are just out of our reach at the moment! So it would be good to meet up sometime if you have a spare evening.

3 Pauls! Ha ha . I guess that may have something to do with a certain member of the Beatles! Well that's true in Paul's case anway.

Paul and Tara - I'm glad to hear your settling in okay. I'm preparing myself for the downs, I think it's going to be hard for a while. I'm just in the process of booking our accommodation for the first 6 weeks, we are going to be based near Joondalup. Paul is a bricklayer and he hopes to have work lined up before we arrive (we have a contact over there). I've still got to find work. I have a background in agriculture and animal science so I'm hoping there will be something that I'd like to do over there. I hope you both find jobs that you enjoy and are happy in.

Take care, keep in touch

Hi everyone!

I am Amy and am married to Paul! (So that will be 4 of them!!) I am 25 and Paul is 26. We moved to WA in November and are currently living and working up in Karratha,, but we have just bought a house in Port Kennedy so hoping to move down there as soon as possible (just waiting to hear back on jobs etc!) but we are down in Perth every 6 weeks or so.

We have found it really hard to make any proper friends whilst we have been up in Karratha because everyone is FIFO. So we are really looking forward to properly settling down in Port Kennedy and making some friends etc.

We would love to meet up for a few drinks and meals out etc when we are in Perth, so if anyone has any meet ups planned we would love to come and introduce ourselves!

Justfaffing and I are in our mid-30's and been here about 3 months already. It's fun meeting new people. We've met a few folk from the meet-ups on PIO's sister site perthpoms.com - there's a Christmas in July meet being organised (might even be tonight, I can't remember (can't go tonight)). There's bound to be something else organised soon - see you then I expect!

Hi Amy,

I'm going to have to start a group up for people called Paul and their wives I reckon! It would be good to meet up when you're down in Perth, we took a drive around Port Kennedy and it seemed nice there, although quite a way out of the city (I only say that as we live in East Perth!). We are unsure of where to buy at the moment but have 8 months left on our lease yet.

Are you and Paul working in the mines up there?

Hi All, My Employers have hired the help of Ernst & Young Migration Specialists to submit our visa's and nomination.

These have been submitted today.

Fingers crossed I get approved and soon!! Watch this space, I could be over before Christmas. Will be back in touch when I have any news. Would love to organise a meet up once I get settled. All of the Paul's can meet up LOL....

Hi,

I think the group would be ace! My husband is always really shocked as he says he didnt know many Pauls until he started working! My dad is a Paul, my brother and two of my nephews have the middle name Paul, my sisters middle name is paula, i have an uncle and a cousin called Paul!) So I just added to the long list of Pauls!

Where we live in Port Kennedy is really quiet and really nice (I find it really hard to sleep when we are down there as we currently live on a main road so there is noise all the time!) Its not too bad from the city, I would say 40 mins or so, depending on traffic, but we don't mind being that far away as we wont be spending all the time in the city. Plus Rockingham is only 10 mins away which has everything we could want.

Paul is working on the big LNG project, I am just doing sales work, just something to keep me busy whilst Paul is at work. Its a bit boring up here, as there is nothing to do etc, no cinema, nothing fun except the pub and only a few restaurants! But there are amazing beaches!

Paul had an interview when we were last in Port Kennedy, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will be getting that, we will hopefully find out this week or next week. I just want to be back at home! We house share and I hate it so much, but means we save loads which we just take off the mortgage, unless I go on a spending spree! lol!

Hello All

Sadly no Paul's here I'm afraid just me (Gemma 38) and my OH Jason (Carpenter/ Joiner) 38, we arrived in Perth on 17th July and were fortunate enough to stay with a couple I met on here and they have been great, but it would also be fantastic to meet new people. We're living in Tapping, which is near Joondalup.

Be great to hear from you, amybe we could arrange a date and a meeting point that suits everyone.

Speak soon

Gemma

Hi everyone,

My names not Paul but I am moving to Perth (probably South suburbs) mid October with my girlfriend Emily. We're both 23 and I'm going to be working FIFO 2:1. We don't really know anybody in Perth apart from a couple of cousins and we're from London so I'm sure Emily is going to get a bit lonely during my two weeks on! It would be great if you guys could get in touch so we can meet up when we get to Perth for a drink or two.

Cheers

Hi Amy, I noticed you said you also have a house in Port Kennedy. Im just wondering if you rent it out at all or know anyone that does holiday rentals as we are looking for somewhere to stay over christmas with my family and are struggling to find anywhere available?

Thanks :spinny: x

Hi Paul and Tara!

Me and my partner Shaun have just moved to Perth from Darwin, moved out to OZ from UK end of last year. Feeling abit shakey starting from scratch again in Perth after being settled for a while and making good friends in Darwin. Don't know anyone in Perth so would be nice to meet some like minded people. I'm 24 and working as a nurse at Freo hospital (just got sponsored) and Shaun is 26 and works an electrican. Just moved into a house in white gum valley  no furniture but were working on it! I'm not very good on this forum I find it very confusing! haha so if you fancied dropping me an email jasmine_field87@hotmail.co.uk we could see who else we can round up and organise a get together
