swifty99
Hi hoping someone out there can help me with my questions. I am a citizen by descent and have been living in Melbourne wince May this year, am i right in thinking my my 2 children can also apply for citizenship by descent after i have lives in australia for 2 years? Also what about my husband does he have to live here for 4 years before he can apply or is it different as he is married to an australian citizen? Thanks

Thanks Hi Applying after you have lived here for 2 years appears correct for your 2 children - http://www.citizenship.gov.au/applying/how_to_apply/born_overseas/ & the 4 years appears correct for your husband - http://www.citizenship.gov.au/applying/how_to_apply/spouse/ Spouses and partners of Australian citizens do not have an automatic right to Australian citizenship. You will need to apply for citizenship and satisfy the eligibility criteria in the same way as other adult applicants. -
