OH and I have grown up in the uk and now planning our trip in couple of weeks.. I saw on the Internet there are a few places of worship in Melbourne and was thinking if visiting one for Vaisakhi. Most of the immigrants from are from India, Sri Lanka and Indian families from Fiji . I must admit I have not noticed a lot of Sikh people here and I have been here for a long long time but that may be because we are such a melting pot we do not notice anymore. There are not a lot of people from Pakistan either hence the moaning about our curry here, which I love actually. Doncaster might be a good area for you to start if you want to meet up with fellow Brits. I am sure you will find it ok and Aussies are very friendly and make people welcome.
